Finally The Director of KICK Finalized !
Posted On: Friday, 31 August 2012
There is a lot of talk that who is the Director of Salman Khan's upcoming Movie KICK. Well there were many twists and turns and today morning we shared with you that Sajid Nadiadwala who is Producing the movie might give the Direction duty to Kabir Khan but the final decision has came and guess what, Sajid Nadiadwala himself is the Director now ! Sajid Nadiadwala will Produce and also Direct KICK which is expected to release in 2013 after Eid. According to Sources:
Earlier Shirish Kunder (Farah Khan's husband) was to direct the film but he himself opted out more than 10 days ago. And in the process he also informed Salman Khan about it as Farah and he have always shared warm and cordial relationships with Salman and his family. It was an amicable decision between all the parties. Shirish wasn't keen on making remake (Kick is a Telegu film directed by Surender Reddy. It was also remade in Tamil titled Thillalangadi so he explained to Salman and the actor was completely fine with that. Shirish and Sajid were not able to agree on the script also (written by Rajat Arora). As the script was being re-worked on the film got bit delayed.
But things got sorted out soon when Shirish informed Salman of his decision to opt out of Kick. "In fact Salman told Shirish that they would do another film instead once he completes Sher Khan and Kick. Last night when Shirish and Farah came to know Sajid was directing Kick himself they were very happy and both called to congratulate him. Shirish feels Sajid will be the best person to understand what is required in the script and direct the film himself."
It was then that Sajid Nadiadwala decided to rope in Kabir Khaan who had just given the super hit Salman-Katrina starrer Ek Tha Tiger. But the talks fell through last night and Sajid decided to take a creative call to direct Kick himself. Apart from that Kick is an expensive action film and Sajid doesn't want to entrust a film worth crores to someone he's not comfortable with as Kick is expected to be even more expensive than Dhoom 3. And as Sajid has been wanting to direct for some time, with Kick he decided to finally take the leap from producer to director.
The source adds, "It's a well-known fact that Salman likes to take a creative call on most of the scenes in his films, almost like a behind-the-scenes director. In Kick's case too he will apparently be doing the same and and Sajid won't mind at all. He shares a warm rapport with Salman who considers Sajid to be like his brother."
